In May of 2003, Grafton voters approved the purchase of the wooded 47-acre Hennessey property for $1.1 million from Robert N. Hennessy.  This parcel is bounded by the Massachusetts Turnpike on the North, Old Westboro Road on the West, and Estabrook Road (classified as a 'scenic road') on the South.

This property was purchased for general municipal purposes and does not have a Conservation Restriction on it. To meet the needs of the Grafton Department of Public Works, town citizens voted in 2017 to have the new DPW facility constructed on this property.

The town inhabitants voted at town meeting on May 12, 2003 to purchase this property for $1.1M from Robert Hennessy for "general municipal purposes" in Warrant Article 23. The deed was recorded June 18, 2003.
